HELP I THINK MY CHICKENS ABOUT TO DIE!!

FYI, I have one in my house with the same problem. With her I drained 500ml of fluid from her abdominal cavity, started her on Baytril and I'm providing supportive care with subcutaneous fluids and tube feeding.

She's been given "critical care fine grind" it's like a powder that you have to put in water and syringed into her mouth, and she has to take 70ml a day and she's been given medicine that you have to squirt in her mouth. The vet said that she has to eat solids first before considering having an implant put in which stops it. The implant costs $80 and has to be put in every 6 months, ($80 per implant!)

You might find it easier to tube feed. One of my hens takes 120ml twice a day and it takes less than three minutes to do it. Your vet should be able to set you up with the supplies.

How much does that cost roughly? And does it prevent it for life?
Tube feeding supplies? Should be cheap, no more than $5 (US). It won't prevent anything, but it will make feeding her less stressful for both of you, plus it's much safer. I would suggest using a size 18 french catheter tube and a 35ml or 60ml catheter tip syringe.

These are using a crop needle, not a plastic tube.

This one uses a tube like I use
