Help I think my hen is broody!!!

UPDATE!!! I went to check on the hens and pullets and she was a little better she was setting but with her neck up and when I got close to check the nesting boxes she got up and was trying to get out. My first thought was she stopped being broody but she went to the back and I could see she she's been pooping in the nest with the eggs but it's not on the eggs just the outside rim if that's makes since..

Yes thanks all for the advice.. She is doing very well sort more active she gets up eats some treats I give her and then settles back on the nest. So today is day 8 almost there.

I have a question if Yall can give me insight. Since I have my broody in a small dog kennel in the coop I'm trying to see if that's enough room for her and chicks once they start hatching next week or if I should build on to that so they can come out and stretch a little. I would have to chick proof the kennel walls cuz I believe they would fit through them and don't want the others getting them. Or should I make a whole new brooder and put momma and chicks in there once they hatch.

Oh also will momma need her time with the other hens again or will she just want to stay with them and not bother being around the others.

The hen and chicks should be separated from the rest of your flock. Mother hen will want nothing to do with the others while her chicks are small. It is important that the chicks not be able to mingle with other older chickens. In all likelihood the older chickens (not the mother) would injure or kill the chicks.

Ok thanks, I have her and the eggs in the dog kennel on the floor of the coop but not sure if that's enough room for them when they start to hatch I was looking to build a brooder box on top of a table I have in the coop and place momma and chicks in there until there old enough to be moved. The other hens can't get to them right now since she's locked in the kennel but I would think one they start getting active they need room to move around in so I want to be prepared.

If the chicks can not get out of the dog kennel it will be fine for a couple of days after they hatch, but after that they will need more room.

Yea I think they will be able to squeeze through so I was gonna either put like a screen wire or cardboard box around it just to be on the safe side..
