Uh oh... Confusion... You're right, they do look a lot alike. The pics I've seen of the Columbian Rocks have a lot more black though. She could just be a poor sample. She did come from a hatchery. Seems she looks an awful lot like a Delaware though. Sigh. I'll be combing through more pictures and reading breed standards this evening. Lol.

McMurray doesn't sell Columbian Plymouth Rocks, so assuming she's from McMurray like the previous owner said then she's definitely a Delaware. She does look more like a Delaware to me too. (hatchery of course)

He did say McMuray. And you are right, I looked for Colombian on their site and didn't see them. OK, my moment of confusion is gone. Lol

Could be a Delaware or a Columbian Plymouth Rock, since those breeds/varieties look virtually identical.
I think you have a Delaware there. The two breeds do have distinct differences. Left is a Columbian Rock. Right is a Delaware (notice the ever-so-slightly barred hackle).

I also have a hen who is almost blind in both eyes. She was born with cataracts so can just see movement, and well contrasted things. When she was young she bumped into the fence and tripped over branches a lot, but she learned where the food and water were and now is as happy and plump as can be (so long as you don't move anything around in the yard). I'm sure yours will get along fine with the one eye.

Thank you WyandotteIndeed. Yes, my girl looks like pic #2. Pages been here two days now, and seems to be doing really well. She has to turn her head sideways a lot, and got a leaf stuck on her beak when she was pecking at breakfast this morning. But she really is doing well.
