Honey is our sweet rooster. He is about 9 weeks old now and we are trying to figure out his breed, mostly for curiosity, but also because the plan is to eventually hatch our own eggs and we’d like to know the possibilities.
Honey has puffy cheeks, 5 toes on each foot, single comb. We have no idea what he’s mixed with. We thought maybe salmon favorelle, but of course we are only guessing
Two of the pictures were taken a couple weeks ago the most recent one I have is taken with my daughter and shows his super sweet face. I mean, he is so stinking adorable.

Any help would be appreciated!

Where did you get him? I honestly have zero clue with what he could be but knowing where he came from may help more. Also could you get newer photos of him as well?

We bought him as a straight run chick, from a local breeder. His particular batch was just a barnyard mix from a friend that they hatched. They called them “Easter eggers”, which I know is just a general term for mix, but that was all. I will take updated pictures of him tomorrow.

An Easter Egger means different things to different people but generally it is a mix that lays blue eggs. Many Easter eggers are just mixes mixed with mixes to the point where really all they are is an Easter egger

That makes sense, I’m sure that is probably the case with our little guy. Regardless, we love him, and are excited for him to join our flock

He is super cute! I also do agree with him being a mix. His parents were probably mixed as well so it is super hard to know what he may be mixed with.

Thank you!! We just fell in love with those cheeks and his sweet demeanor. He follows my daughter everywhere.
I figured he was probably a mix of a mix. Will he pass on the cheeks/5 toes? Or is that kind of up in the air, too?
