We got a "free rare exotic chick" from McMurry with our order and we're having a hard time trying to figure our what it is. Here are some pictures at 5 weeks old.

In this first picture, it's the white bird in the back. It looks similar to our splash colored Andalusian (she's the white bird on the left), but the beak and feet coloring are different.

It looks like a splash Andalusian. Her feet will probably darken in time. I have some too and she looks just like them and your other one. Oh, and it is a pullet.

I've thought at times that it might be another splash Andalusian as well, but it didn't have the dark spot on the beak like the other two Andalusian chicks that are in the first pic. Here is a better picture of the splash Andalusian, you can really see the dark spot on the beak that is missing from the mystery bird.

BTW. This is by far our nicest chick. She is super friendly and always jumps up on our laps. I thought that was kind of funny being that the Andalusian was the one of the only breeds we ordered that had a more skittish reputation.

There is exceptions to every rule. I have heard of contradictions to a lot of reputations of breeds. You never know what their nature is going to be. They are individuals as much as we are.

They definitely all have different personalities, even at 5 weeks old.

Also wanted to add that the other reason we initially ruled out the mystery chick being another Andalusian was that it was yellow like the rest of our white birds when we first got them, while the splash colored chick was a silverish color.

I got a batch of chicks from MM two weeks ago and I have 3 Dark Cornish with them. One of them is yellow with a few spots on it for down, and the other two the chipmunk looking coloring. I couldn't figure out until the last couple of days that the light one has to be the 3rd Cornish. So, you can't always count on specifics with chick coloring, I believe. Nature will do what nature does. It may be something else, but it sure does look like and Andalusian to me. Sure would like to see how it turns out.
