Help Identify droppings **Warning: poop pics**

looks like domestic dog poop, wild critters like foxes would have hair, feathers and mabe seeds because of their varied diet unless it was just feeding on dog food.

That's what I thought too. I have seen coyote scat around and it looks quite different than the one in the pic.

It's hard to distinguish predator poops without more info. You should put something of a standard size, like a coin, in poop or foot print photos, for scale. Exact diameter is very helpful in distinguishing between fox and coyote.

Foxes are not the only predators who leave scat on elevated surfaces. Coyotes and fishers do, too. Even a bobcat might do it.

Presence of fur and bones usually means wild rather than domestic, but absence of fur or bones does not rule out wild predator. Scat appearance varies with diet.

One predator it is definitely not, is raccoon.

Totally agree that this is extremely common fox behavior, but I have been tracking for years, and have seen other species do it too, albeit less commonly. Quite common with fisher, fairly common with raccoon, and occasionally with coyote.

Yeah I apologize for my earlier comment im eating my words the person Who taught me everything I know told me that just because it's not common here doesn't mean that it's not common somewhere else
