I'm totally new to raising backyard chickens and we got a few chicks and I'm so curious to find out what breed and sex they are! I can post more pics if needed and I put a number on all the photos to help when you answer...thanks so much for any insight.

**10- I'm a little worried about bc of how tiny the wings are...I sprayed blu-kote on him bc it had been picking so thats the purple (which is usually silver)- but let me know if it looks normal or what to do!
Thanks!!!

The "big and tiny whites" look like Leghorns. How much different are they in size? It could be that one is older than the other.
Your guesses seem accurate!

The 2 white ones I got at TSC from the same 'barrel' as 'assorted bantam' but a man that was in line behind me said the big white was a leghorn...so I'm not sure if maybe it jumped over...but they are a huge size difference. I'll try to get a pic of all of them together.

Thanks so much!

And any clue on the 'unknowns'?
Does my #10 wings look normal?

Ya, I am pretty sure the larger ones are not bantams but are large breeds. They probably jumped over or were put there accidentally and left there since for the most part Tractor Supply employees are clueless when it comes to chickens.

Most of your chicks look to be a good 3 weeks old, some up to 5 weeks. They're growing a good amount of feathers in. Your last little guy just looks like a day old, I think it's just much younger than the others, that's why it looks so different.

I think your feather legged chicks are Cochins--different colors. I'd keep an eye on 4 to be a rooster. 4 and 5 look to be black, and 8 looks like a pretty gold laced. She'll be beautiful! Not sure what color 10 will be...actually, looking again this guy may be a Brahma, not Cochin. Looks like a pea comb instead of a straight.

7 could be a silver Sebright? Not too familiar with those, but you could look them up and see if it fits.

At this point your white birds could be Leghorns or White Rocks, there's really no telling. You'll just have to see how they turn our, and eventually what color eggs they lay!

#1 A black Silkie
#2 Most likely a white Leghorn
#3 A black Silkie
#4 Looks like a black Australorp
#5 Black Australorp
#6 Probably a Production red. They are commonly called Rhode island reds at feedstores and hatcheries.
#7 Silver Sebright bantam
#8 Gold laced Cochin, but I'm not sure whether or not it's a bantam or standard.
#9 This is either a gold pyle Old English game bantam, or a white Old English game bantam.
#10 Looks like it could be a mottled Cochin (bantam?), and no need to worry about the wings. Cochins grow in their feathers very slowly.
