Help identify these chicks - Ornamental layers from MM.

The silver spangled hamburg is awesome looking. I cant tell if that is a hen or a roo though. Looking at other pics it seems that it is not a hen. Any thoughts?

1. Dominique
2. Silver Spangled Hamburg (probably a roo)
3. Partridge Cochin
4, 5, and 8. Dark Brahmas
6. Easter Egger
7. Black Cochin
9. Silver Phoenix

I agree with you on the SSH being a roo. Looking at other pics of them at the same age, the hens dont have as much of a comb in any pics I can find. So that one most likely is the "free rare chick" from MM. That appears to be a breed they give out according to comments on their website and here. That will be our only roo so it is a good one to have I think.

Thanks everyone for your help!

I just love that breed, but they can be flighty. They are great for foraging and good fliers to escape predators. They also lay like crazy (not that yours will lay) :p

I have a polish mixed with a SSH and she got her egg laying ability exclusively from the SSH side. She will lay at least 6/7 days. Though she is molting right now
