Help identify this hen's breed?

The chicks are no clue. They are neighbour's chicks tucked under her when she got broody.

Can't see in the pic but she had a little feathering on the feet.

She could be a Wheaten Maran, but could as likely just be a mix as well.

Generally the color isn't right. Buff Orpingtons are more buff colored (yellowish, like light tan). Here a picture:
