I am so sorry, I can't tell from the pictures. If your chickens head was removed, it was probably a raccoon. If the rear was attacked it may well be a possum. I don't know what all predators you have in your area, however whatever it is, it will be back for more.
We have problems with possums here. I just finished doctoring a girl who was attacked by a possum. It took 3 months, but she is back with the flock as of yesterday.
We get rid of possums who are attacking our flock. But that is a decision you will have to make for yourself.
Again, I am so sorry you are going through this. :hugs

Possum come out right about sundown or after. In our case the young possum got into our coop. Now, the crew is locked in at night. Possum was little and young. Hubby thinks the young one was looking for eggs. Fooled it though. Most are molting right now. All of them were on the floor behind the laying boards except one. He of course alerted my husband there was a problem. Good boy Roo-roo. Roo was the first and only one that went dashing out of the coop about two weeks ago. Possum was just a little one but, it scared our crew for them to be behind the laying boards on the floor. Except for our Roo roo. Jr Roo stayed in the coop. This is the first time I've seen a possum around here since we moved here in 2012. I would say it's mama is probably close by.
I think the problem is a stray cat found us during the summer. She was tame easy to hold and pet. Hubby started feeding her on the coop deck. She is now outside and sometimes she is on our deck staying dry or in our garage. Anyone missing a long hair cat in rural in the PNW?

We get possums and raccoons at all times of the night. Occasionally we see them at dusk or even in the daylight.
In our City Park, if you walk away from your picnic a raccoon may well help itself to your food in broad daylight. I have actually seen it happen. :lau
