Good afternoon all! I'm having a hard time identifying the 4 chickens that my husband brought home. His coworker said they didnt get along with the rest of his flock so he was going to release them. We brought them home, built them a coop and started feeding them. I've been trying to find out when they will start laying eggs but I havent had any success because I'm not 100% sure of what they even are. I found that they look similar to the pumpkin hulsey but cant find much info on them other than their are a lot of people selling them. I would appreciate any help that I can get on what they are and what their tendencies are. Thank you!!

Do you know how old they are now? If they hatched this spring, they probably aren't old enough to lay yet.

Pullets almost never lay before age 4 months old, some wait 6-8 months, and a few wait until next spring.

I'm guessing those might have hatched early this spring, so you might have eggs before fall.

Sorry I don't have any useful ideas about what kind they are.
