So we had a really bad day yesterday. I came out in the morning to find Strawberry dead. Watching the video footage, she falls off of the roost at like 3:45am and then flops over and dies. I don't know if she took a kick in a mild skermish with another hen, if she was stressed by starting to reintegrate, or if it was just her time. She was, hands down, my favorite hen. I was so upset that I forgot to feed Poppy a special breakfast. I did get him some food at the end of the day when I got back from work.

He spent the night back in the nesting box. Though I did watch on the camera and he hopped up to it really cleanly, so at least that's good.

I got him a good breakfast this morning.

Aw, I'm so sorry to hear about Strawberry, that's sad. I wonder what happened, it could have been anything...

Yes, it's just not the same flock without her.

I'm hand feeding Poppy twice a day which is certainly an experience. He's experimenting with different places to roost. I hope he stays steady.
