Hello, I ordered assorted brown egg layers from Meyer Hatchery and I am having trouble identifying the breeds as this is my first flock. Any help would be appreciated! Tia!

Please post good individual pictures of your chicks. It's best when they are at least six weeks old. Do you know what they could be? A list of breeds or something?

The What Breed or Gender is this? forum is best for questions like this, just for future reference.

Now that there are pictures, the first is a Black Australorp, second is a Barred Plymouth Rock, third Buff Orpington, four I'm not 100% sure on (do you have that list?) and the last is probably a Rhode Island Red or Production Red.

No problem. The fourth looks like an Easter Egger, but I wouldn't expect that in a brown egg layer assortment.

Yes I think you are right. I called them and tried to get some help. They did say they gave me a “bonus” Easter egg layer. That’s the only definite info I got lol!
