Hello, thanks in advance for any replies. My friend’s father bought a few chicks a few weeks ago for another daughter’s school projects (not in USA) and we’d like some help identifying their breed as well as their sex to provide better care for them.

Thank you, any help or comment is appreciated.

How old are they and how much do they weigh? Those look like they might possibly be meat birds to me. At least 3 are female, the 4th I'm not sure about (third one back) would need a better picture of comb, front and side view in good lighting. Front shots of the bird (looking into the camera from the front) might help assess body structure, which is one of the key indicators of being a meat bird. They don't look like any particular breed I'm familiar with. Do you have a shop name or hatchery name they came from? That can help narrow it down sometimes.

I was thinking meat birds too. They look a lot like the Freedom Rangers I raised. I don't think they're Isa Browns......they look nothing like mine at that age. Good guess though WingItRanch!

I'm guessing the breed could be red star. The third one (from closest to the camera to furthest to the camera) is a roo while the others are female.
