Help identifying dead chicks

Hello All--Woke up to my first two lost. I ordered a top hat special, so buff brahmas, and black frizzles. I know they are not black frizzles, but I can not identify the type of the dead two. Is it ok if I post pictures of the dead chicks without offending anyone. My wife is pretty tore up as she is the fan of the brahma and she thinks that they are both buff brahmas, but they look completely different. Give me a go ahead and I will post pics. Thanks Ryan

If we can post pics of poo. surgery, butchering and tore up chickens; I see no problem with it! We are here to learn. Dead or alive learning to identify them helps alot of people. Me included. Post away!

I've never noticed anyone get offended over pics of dead chicks. I've seen pics of do-it-yourself autopsies, chickens dead from predators, etc. on here. Good luck to you.

These are the two. They both have feathered feet, I know there are a few crested that have feathered feet. I am really confused. I think the darker one is a buff brahma, but the other one looks like a light brahma as well. doesn't really have the top hat like the other top hats. Give me opinions.

Sometimes chick just die because they can't take the airplane ride and it stresses them out to much. It happens with a lot of chicks being shipped from hatcheries.

Oh I am not worried about a few losses. There is a reason they ship 5 extra. These two as well as about 2-3 more look pretty small and fragile. I am sure I will lose the other couple. They all drank and have eaten, but they just don't get around as aggresively as the others. I will pull out my farm mentality and will give a quote that a vet school professor told me once. The ones that are supposed to live will live without much intervention. Survival of the fittest. I am a pretty strong believer in Natural Selection when it comes to farm animals. The weak will almost always find their way out of the herd. Thanks for any help identifying. Ryan

First off I am so sorry for your loss

Looks like the darker chick could be a buff, the lighter one strikes me as a light brahma, thats what My light brahma hen looked like when she was a chick.

I wondered the same thing about the lighter one. I was trying to add up buff brahmas, (I ordered 4, boy I should have ordered more, did not know the wife's favorite) and could only count 2. I wonder if they substituted for light brahmas.

I haven't seen a buff Brahma chick before but I do have 2 light brahmas, a roo and his sister, and they both looked like the fuzzy yellow one. Sorry...it's never good to loose them.

Could be a buff brahma on the left, and looks like a light brahma on the right. Try putting sugar in the water for the ones that are still weak. I'm sorry you lost those 2 and I hope the others improve.
