Thanks guys for answering my questions. I really hoped we could’ve helped her I would’ve held her all night if that would’ve helped It kills me to know she suffered because she couldn’t breath properly. I just didn’t know what to do My 4 daughters and I cried all day yesterday and most of the day today she was a beautiful girl even if she had an attitude

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's kind of an inevitable part of having chickens, but it's never easy, and often sudden and unexpected. It happens to all of us. You can only do the best you can do, and enjoy them while you have them.

Not that I’m not willing to de everything I can to help them We just don’t have that amount of money to spend on them I honestly don’t mean to sound cruel. If I could love on them and treat them like the dog and cats I most certainly would We just can’t justify that amount for 1 girl. I hate their coups cost more than they do If (I pray to God no one else has issues ) another gets sick. We’d most likely sell the rest We can’t be as dedicated as some of you are. No doubt we love our girls but the coast guard doesn’t afford us attachment to things for a long time. So we’ll only have them maybe until next year when we move

First, you don't sound cruel at all. I totally understand not being able to spend money you don't have. It is also not a bad idea to liquidate birds if there are problems - just don't be one of those people who offer sick birds for sale without alerting prospective buyers of the problems.
That would be very unscrupulous.

Birds with an attitude are problematic.
There are many great birds in the world whether you want a lap pet or an independent non-human aggressive bird.
I think it is sometimes helpful to put the lives of chickens into reality perspective.
Only in the United States, 9 billion chickens a year are killed for meat and another 305 millions hens are used commercially for eggs. That means another 300 million cockerel hatchlings are killed because they aren't needed. Then, after 18 months, those hens are culled for Campbell's soup to make room for the next batch.
Globally, that means about a half trillion chickens a year.

Thank you. I could never sell anything sick I would feel so horrible I was just meaning I didn’t expect her death to hit us in the feels like it did and Idk how we’d take another one dying . We don’t mind attitude. We’re a house of girls. Literally 4 daughters me. 2 female cats and our 5 flying girls My husband and his old boy dog are the only males lol. But That’s the reason we got em. Less eggs from those poor abused girls
