In my opinion your 10 x 10 is too tight for your cow and 35 hens. Can you let the hens free range?

Wow thanks for all the responses you guys, i'm only here a couple of days but i'm already having a clucking good time, it's my new favourite site.


A few developments since I was last here though. I got a builder out to measure my backyard and it turns out it's not 10x10 at all, it's 9 x 11. Not sure if that makes much difference but the place is pretty crowded now with all the chickens and the cow.

Unfortunately 2 of the chicks fell into my pond so i'm down to 33 for now but the cow is loving them, they're on her back all the time, it's so funny, although the neighbours are complaining a bit about the noise.

Does anyone know if there's a backyard cow website cause I need some advice. I've had to feed my cow betsy a lot of granola and i'm worried it might give her diabetes if I keep feeding her this much.
