I've read on here that you can give Ivermectin Injectable to chickens to rid them of gape worms. However I have read two different ways to do it, 1. Ivermectin 'pour on' to be used on the skin or 2. Ivermectin injectable put drops on the skin. That's what I bought, the injectable and put 4 drops on the skin. So will the injectable work on the skin to kill the worms? Thanks in advance for all the help.

Ivermectin injectable is useless as a wormer in chickens, here's proof:

Thanks for the reply. I'm still wondering though if ivermectin injectable applied to the skin is appropriate or do I need the pour on kind? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Ivermectin injectable is not meant to be applied on the skin. Ivermectin pour on is applied to bare skin on the back of the neck.

Thanks so much, I had read on here that the injectable could be applied to the skin but I started doubting that so that you so much for clearing that up for me. $34 down the drain I guess, so can the injectable be put int their water and if I already put it on the skin would that be an overdose if mixed with water?

I've never used the injectable, had no need for it since it doesnt do anything except kill mites.

Anybody know it treating with pour on Ivermectin after wrongly using the injectable type on the skin would be an overdose? I put the injectable on the skin yesterday.
