Help! I'm looking for a dog breed that....

Pics
I haven't owned them before, but one of my old coworkers had both rough and smooth coat collies. They were not overly hyper or excitable. Very smart dogs, but they didn't seem too prone to getting in to trouble like some smart dogs do haha. Now granted, she bred them and was able to work with them from day one so that might make a difference. I didn't notice them being very vocal dogs either. They seemed to like attention from whoever would give it to them.
Maybe an idea for you! :)
We have two huskies and a cattle dog, but I think that would be a bit much for you lol.

Round faces is a breed trait from the much more popular american staffordshire terrier

Most shelter mixes resemble AST'S, not APBT'S

What's this? Those are the scary ones

yes i have had pure bred APBTs before i have also had mutts labled as pits and the most furstating thing is when you see a story on a "pit bull" acakking you click on it and it barley looks part pit
Oh okay I’m sorry then. too many people claim they have a pit but really don’t do I guess I’m used to that and didn’t mean to doubt or whatever. but yeah I get frustrated by that too and hate how they’re giving them all a bad reputation! My neighbor’s dog would probably be labeled a “pit” by most people too cause she looks just like a stereotypical pit most people think of but in reality she is boxer, Weimaraner, either Am Staff or Staffie (not sure exactly which one but know it’s one of those two), and Great Pyrenees of all things haha but Pyrs are everywhere down south 😂 but yeah. Totally get it.

AM Staff and staffie is the same

AM Staff/Staffie and Staffie bulls are different.

The ones with the round skulls=scary
I might be thinking of boxers for the other ones?
People call anything with a remotely blocky head a pit bull so that’s probably why. But really they’re mostly all just bully breed mixes. That said though, they’re (mostly) all very sweet dogs and nothing to be afraid of. They’re not supposed to be human aggressive. Although unfortunately there are a lot of poorly bred bully mutts that are aggressive now because people think it’s cool and/or try to breed “big tough guard dogs” etc. but they’re not supposed to be. True APBT actually make horrible guard dogs because they’re so sweet and friendly lol

Dog's have personalities just like people. You can't say xx breed will be tame, docile bla bla woof, because your dog might not be.

Nothing wrong with shelter dogs, go check the dog out, see what it's temperament, personality is and go from there.

Have you considered getting a chicken instead? Can be quiet, can be friendly, not too big, not too small, can live about the age of a dog, and as a bonus, you get eggs too, and will also follow you around like a dog, when you bribe them with treats, like a dog. Chickens also won't defile your pant leg like a dog will either, a BIG plus.

Oh and may I add, when mom feeds you lima beans or other veggies you don't like, it will eat them too when you sneak the plate off the table.... just like a dog.
