At five months your pullet may need a few more weeks to work out the kinks in her egg manufacturing equipment.
My pullets gave me a few of theses:

Like yours, my pullets ate the best of feed: Purina layer, oyster shells and so forth. Within a short time they started normal eggs. However, I have one pullet who egg laying machine never did make a shell, and now that she is a hen, she serves no purpose except to entertain me.
I have lots of those chickens---the ones just for entertainment LOL. That is why I got the three young hens---I want eggs. Thanks for the reply. I hope it is just youth & she starts to lay good eggs but if not she will be another pet.
