In the morning when I left for work the bator was at 99.3F, when I got home the Spring Feild Percise Temp. read HH.H. I found the owners manual and it said it exceeded 120F!!!

I immediatly turned off the bator, took off the lid, and let them cool untill they felt warm to the touch. Can they still hatch?

When they were cooling I candled them, and they were all growing. Are my attemps to hatch freindly pets always going to end up in a disaster? Please give me awnsers it is killing me already!!!

I would candle them now, then again in a few days to see if they have grown. If they don't show any growth, toss them and start over. I definately wouldn't be holding my breath on it though. Sorry

Oh dear, I am so sorry that happened to you. I would suspect that those temps for that long of a time fried them. But, perhaps you lucked out and found it just as it happened, or maybe your thermometer was off. You could try leaving them for a few days, it won't hurt anything (except, of course, your nerves). I know it's very stressful.

I am really not sure how long it was that high.

It could have been anywhere between 30 minutes, and 7 hours!!!

That's happened to me before. I replaced my old wafer style thermostat with the electronic one and haven't had any problems so far (knock on wood).

Oh, and it did fry my eggs. It happened during the night, so they were "cooked" for up to 8 hours.

I will almost bet the farm it was a LG.... When I first started mine up it went to HHH on the temp. I am still fighting the bator. I guess I am lucky that I can keep an eye on it but at night it will go down to 98.9 for no reason. You would think that millers the people that build LG would put a different type of thermostat on them (lord only knows how much money they have made on them) Well go luck......
