came across a stuck egg in turner as i tried to unstick the egg it shattered....have 50 quail, 24 chicken, and 3 turkey eggs in there..... cleaned it up the best i could but afraid the residue could harm the rest of the eggs, do not have extra incubator right now.....If I run to tsc and pick up a cheap incubator and set it up it will take atleast a day to get stable,,,,will the rest of the eggs be okay for that amount of time.....eggs are in different stages ....quail are on day 9 rest are on day 2, so i was planning on picking up another incubator for hatching anyway....

Back from the store, I am using an lg still air right now, but since they had forced air for only $20 dollars more I went with the forced air.. Plan is to set it up quick and give it till saturday to stabilize then move eggs over, clean up the still air and use that for hatching, (or would the other way around be better)....hopefully the broken egg will not cause bacteria in that time..

I don't know anything about the bacteria problem, but got an LG this spring. Don't trust its thermometers! Once I got a decent thermometer it has been very stable.

got home from work at midnight and everything seems stable and ready in the morning.. spiritedfarm eggs are not covered it all ran to the bottom of the bator, just couldn't see it cooking for 18 days......will clean up the still air and save it for hatching....can not hurt to have an extra.

but hubby is now waiting to see how long it takes me to just fill them both up and then say I need a seperate hatcher.
