HELP! Incubator quit day 26!

Haha well we are deffinitely smitten first-time duck raisers, they are way cute and acquiring more could easily (and dangerously) get addicting!
I was able to get the babe to move, but I am not positive it is still developing; the veins weren't as defined as on the other developing eggs... Maybe it's just because it got slowed down from being stuck? I haven't had the chance to take another look since it moved, but I hope to find it's still making a duck.
Got cha...

It IS still makin' a duck, wahoo!

And here is the only decent pic I could get for now of the crew that hatched a couple weeks ago - officially 2 weeks old today, amazing how fast they grow. This is the punk Lou standing up and Crook sitting. We need to move them to a new brooding setup - they are starting to be almost successful at scaling out of this box! Plus they've made a permanant mess of it. Would 3ish weeks be too early to move them out to a coop with a heat lamp in the early springtime?

So cute!! I'm so glad they have thrived for you!!

So have you moved them outside? I had to move mine outside at 3 weeks, and that's been 2 weeks ago. Temps have dipped to low 40's and they have been fine! They love their new yard and pool so much better than a cage indoors. Most folks do not recommend moving them outside until they are fully feathered, 6-8 weeks.

Thanks! No we haven't moved them out yet but are making plans to give it a try this coming weekend, and that would make them three weeks old like yours were so I am glad to hear yours have done fine. Our temps are still dipping here in Colorado (our weather really just fluctuates randomly all year long - today it's cold and wet and snowing a tad and tomorrow it's going to be in the upper 50s, and in the 70's by Thurs, ha!). We're just going to keep a close eye on them, of course. It will feel kinda weird actually moving them out, sort of like packing away the first size of clothes your baby grows out of, hehe. :)

Yes, its somewhat heartbreaking, but mine are so much happier now. Or at least that's what I tell myself. Its almost like watching your first born drive away in the car after just getting their driver's license too! My hubby says I'm too over-protective. But I can't help it! I worry most about predators.
