HELP! Incubator quit day 26!

Completely detached, they just roll around in the egg like a free-floating bubble

I have them sitting upright in an egg carton just for now. haven't taken a look yet since I set them to see if they have reattached at all, but I sure hope they do - I don't know how it would work for a duckling to hatch out of one of those even if they happen to develop??

LOl, I would definitely keep them in the upright position even if they do start to develop, for at least a few more days and just shift them slightly so they don't stick to the side. Until they get big enough to where the air cell has no choose but to stick.. Crossing fingers for you though that they do develop....

Well three with detached air cells quit, and I have 4 eggs doing fine, and one with the embryo seemingly stuck to the side of the shell up by where an attached air cell reattached... wonder how that's gonna go. I contacted the fella who sold me the eggs (he told me to let him know how things look at the first candle - one was broken upon arrival, too) and he offered to send me 8 more KC eggs if I just pay for shipping and he's throwing in some Silver Appleyard duck eggs, too - I didn't pass that up! I didn't know anything about Appleyards and looked up info on them last night, seems like they could be a great adldition to our new homestead! They sure are pretty too. Hope we can get a couple to hatch and that they get along with the KCs.

The one that is Stuck, FLip the egg, have the smaller end up see if you can get that baby to move in the spot where it needs to go, it will move very slowly but should go. Once it's in the correct spot then continue as usual, don't put it on the turner like that though, just in your hand while candling see if you can flip the egg and get that baby out of that spot.. It can't grow very much if it's stuck to the side..

Any updated photos of the 4 little ones? I just read the entire thread and was sitting on the edge of my seat. Impressive work! Good job. So glad they made it through the ordeal.

I need to get a couple updated photos and I'll share them! They are not even two weeks old and so big already - really close to scaling out of the box we're using for brooding. We've been letting them run around in some water in the tub, bobbing for peas and kale. It's so nice to see them continually thriving after that whole hatching ordeal!

Haha well we are deffinitely smitten first-time duck raisers, they are way cute and acquiring more could easily (and dangerously) get addicting!

I was able to get the babe to move, but I am not positive it is still developing; the veins weren't as defined as on the other developing eggs... Maybe it's just because it got slowed down from being stuck? I haven't had the chance to take another look since it moved, but I hope to find it's still making a duck.
