We were letting our 4-week-old chicks out to explore the yard. My 9-yr-old was trying to catch this Americauna and he accidentally jumped on her from a height of about 3 feet. Looks like she's got some head trauma--blood in the eye and on the beak. She's lethargic but still breathing. Anything I should do other than wait it out? How do I know when I should put her out of her misery?
And -- if we do have to let her go -- can I get a new baby chick and put it with a couple of 4-weekers?
