I need some help/advice. I went out to change water this afternoon and found my 3 month old Cuckoo Maran in some bushes. When I picked her up, I noticed dry blood and she was having trouble walking.

After looking her over, it looks like something tried to get her. She has some puncture wounds on her thighs and an open cut between her wings. I cleaned them, put some wound-kote on and gave her some water. I brought her in the house, put her in a dog/pet carrier with a small bowl of water and some crumbles and have her in a quiet, back bedroom.

I wasn’t sure if she should be alone or not, so I brought her sibling in and put them in the crate together

Anything else I can do for her? She’s really really lethargic, which I assume is do to the injuries. Just trying to help her as best as I can.
In the picture with two hens, she is the one on the bottom.

Hawks can be dangerous around young chickens. It could have been something else though. Chlorhexidene is good to use on wounds, and then put plain Neosporin ointment on the wound twice a day. Keep her separated, in a wire dog crate, since other chickens will peck at the red wounds. But you could keep the other flock member close by. Make sure flies don’t get near her. Offer water and moistened feed, cooked egg when she will take them. Water is very important. Hopefully, she doesn’t have internal injuries.

Thank you for the advice. Is Chlorhexidene something I can get at TSC?

I have her in a kennel in the house. Is it okay for her to be alone? I have her chick sibling in with her for company. Do you think she will be alright?

I’ve checked on her a few times since being her in and she seems more alert. She is drinking water when i

**UPDATE***

She survived the night and had a little more energy the next morning. She is also eating and drinking! Today I moved her to an outside, enclosed run with her sister and she’s WALKING!! She still has trouble and limps on one leg, but she will stop and rest before walking again! I think she’s going to make it!
