Hi Everyone,

I have three 9 week old Indian Runner Ducks (2 females and 1 drake). Today whilst they were out in an enclosed pen (grass and a paddling pool), one of my females sustained a bill injury. I'm unsure how she's done it but I do know she wasn't attacked by a predator. My flock also gets along with each other fairly well and I have not seen them attack one another either. She is also still eating, drinking and quacking, and doesn't appear to be in any distress or pain. The wound is also not actively bleeding.

I would appreciate any advice on how I can help her heal.

Hi.

You REALLY don't have to worry about it...
...BUT, if you still want to help anyway - given the wound is so small : you can just put 1 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar per liter of water, into a PLASTIC waterer.
(Just for 24-36 hours...)

...Good luck!

Thanks! I'll give it a go. :)

Every now and then I noticed a scrape on one of my Waterfowl ‘s bills. Sometimes from sticking it through a fence or could be under a rock you know they dig around in the ground so much they might scrape it into a rock. They are very good at healing. Just make sure they have clean water to dunk their heads in. The apple cider vinegar is a good idea too.
