My cayuga duck did not get put in the pen last night. She is usually one of the first to go in so I did not realize she was not there when I shut the gate.
Around midnights there was a lot of noise. Something got her and dragged her over an 8’ fence. I scared it off. She was bleeding very bad. I gave her electrolytes and sprayed the gaping wound on her leg with collasate. But could not see her until 3:45 pm today. He said her leg does not seem functional and may or may not regain functionality. Gave antibiotic, did not stitch yet because he said needs to drain, may stitch in a week.
Because of the coronavirus BS and the rain, the curbside consultation was brief. I need advice on how to help her.
