HELP.. Injured duck

I will. and I'll trim out the feathers while I have him in the bath. It doesn't look bad to me.. Yet it is horrible and he lost his best friend so hes very lonely, and being snippy. Hes enjoying yogurt water mix stuff, he tries to clean himself.
Here's the most of the room hes in. he likes the corner behind one of the doors which will stay locked. hay on the tarp.

The bath is a great idea, ducks seem to really perk up in water. Poor guy.

Also, I appreciate loveourbirds' ideas and at the same time want to mention that I have read that ducks ought not to have products with pain numbing agents (things that end in -caine, for example).

Did the vet mention anything like that when suggesting the product for the chickens? Perhaps there has been a new development, or perhaps that is a difference between chickens and waterfowl.

Geez, there is so much to learn.
that is something I didn't know about ducks. I do admit I have a lot to learn too. im glad you called me on that because what I recommended has lidocaine in it. I know I spelled that wrong.

im glad to hear the duck is cleaning itself and such, again I know a lot more about chickens than ducks; but that has to be a good sign. ive seen chickens recover from some very serious injuries. so keep up the good work, and ill keep my fingers crossed for you.

Just had to take my goose to Texas A&M Vet. Hospital after a neighbor shot her with an arrow. We removed the arrow . He told us to keep her out of the water until all puncture wounds were healed, for her that was at least 2 weeks, to prevent infection. Because he specializes in zoo animals he knew the type of antibiotics and pain medication to administer. He name is Dr. Gentry, at Tx A&M School of vet. Medicine, in College Station, Tx. My vet had no idea the amount or kind of antibiotics for waterfowl.
