Help...injured gosling

Hi, we found a day old gosling on our farmyard 4 weeks ago courtesy of crows/magpies and we were unable to find its mother so we have looked after it since then. He has done brilliantly until this morning. It appears to have done something to his hock?! The shoulder to hock has movement but hock down is just dangling and he cant walk.there is a little heat in the joint. Shall i splint? If so how?
