Help introducing a young hen to my flock?

He's still not crowing, he does like a little honk noise right now lol
So, I try and pick him up whenever I can because my idea was it would get him used to people but should I stop doing that? I just hold him and tell him I'm in charge mostly lol
You'll get many opinions on how to raise a cockerel.
Mine is to not handle them much, just enough so they know 'they won't die'. They will struggle but they need to calm down once in your hands, never put one down because it is struggling, hold the wings against the body and don't let them gain purchase with their feet. Once they are calm put their feet back on the ground ans slowly release your hold on the wings.

I handle all the chicks a lot the first 4 weeks, at least once a day to get them used to being handled, then back off on the males once they show their gender around 5-6 weeks. I continue to handle the females more, so they get used to it and so does the male. By handling I mean that I just pick them up give them a once over maybe 'pet' them a bit, but I am not chicken cuddler as rule. I never allow a bird to jump on me anywhere, that can be cute when they are tiny but much less so when they start growing.

When walking thru the flock you want him to get out of your way, not walk around him, so you 'walk thru' him and make him move out of your way, this shows him your dominance.
Whew, that got long, sorry.
It's a delicate balance between fear and trust.
