HELP!! is it possible to have a Showgirl Serama?

I would breed the NN back to a silkie, not a showgirl...as for Condor, I think he looks like a cochin mix...so, you could breed him to a silkie, too and see what you get :)

I am wondering if the NN isn't first generation silkie X NN...It wouldn't be a pure showgirl but it would have the silkie toes and maybe the mom/dad's other attributes. If you bred back to a silkie, you would get more 'silkie looking' showgirl...with the proper feathering and skin color.

First generation cross should have black skin and will not have silkied feathers. It should also have more crest and more foot feathering. It takes MANY generations to get a decent looking showgirl.

I don't mean to step on toes...I certainly don't have that much experience with silkie crosses...but, what I do know is I have a silkie x d'uccle mix that has 5 toes like his dad but otherwise looks like his mom! ...only bigger :)

then he's just not a first generation mix as first gens do have more of the silkie looks (the silkie comb, black skin, slate legs, feathered legs to some degree, 5 toes, and some sort of a crest)...do you have any pics i would love to see him?

It just seems like so many people think that a first generation cross of a naked neck and a silkie will look like the real thing. And it won't--takes a lot of generations to get back the good crest, type and all silkie features (minus neck feathers). Why re-invent the wheel? It will take far longer and cost far more to start from scratch and get to the fully developed showgirl than to purchase one from a breeder whose birds are already many generations into development.

Showgirls are ready (IMO) to put in for recognition. They aren't my cup of tea, but of all the non-recognized varieties being worked on, I think they are the most "finished."

i've got 3 silkie x d'uccle mixes that have more silkie traits than d'uccle.

i want a silkied d'uccle

these are the ones i will start off with this year and see what they throw me. their mom was a white silkie and their dad was mille fluer. i've got some buff and black silkie chicks that i can use later but i really want to get a hold of some black d'uccle and black silkies to use for this project to start off with

Well, I know that he is first gen cause I hatched him and my chickens are all under a year old. My silkie is SQ whereas my little white d'uccle is hatchery...but I love her anyway :) I will get a pic of him...he just looks like a big d'uccle :) Beard and all! He is my son's favorite so it will be easy to get a pic of him...I'll post tomorrow since they are sleeping now. And, I have a d'uccle mix that looks a lot like yours but again, comb came from mom..and man does she have a funky comb and little crest...I'm sure that someone jumped a fence at the hatchery for that one :) She isn't the mom to the first mix I mentioned.
