Help! is my ameraucana a rooster?

Yes it is unfortunate because it seems like more and more people who order female chicks or buy what are supposed to be female chicks at feed stores end up with some cockerels just when sexing is more important than ever with people now raising layers in cities and suburbs. I am glad you did well but from the amount of sexing posts in here it seems like lots of people get unexpected surprises. I think it's very important to let whoever sold the chicks know when cockerels show up in what was supposed to be pullets. Communication and even complaints are the only way I see the situation improving.
Remember too that people don't post when everything goes well, just when it doesn't so that makes it seem more common than it actually is.

IMO, if people live where they absolutely can't have roosters and they have no plan for an oops cockerel, they should buy hatchery bred sexlinks.

Yes, you are right. And sex links are an excellent option for people who can't have or don't want cockerels.

The feed store has nothing to do with sexing baby chicks, it's the hatcheries who do that and it is never 100% or even close to that. It's just one of the risks that comes with the territory, unfortunately. Older birds can be sexed accurately but they cost more.
Thanks Jed.. I didn't know that sexing costs more but Roosters challenge my authority! signed, US Marshal Captain Sherrill badge#f2407118 retired to a chicken farm.. due to a gunshot wound while on duty. Director said retire, buy a farm! I did but I know very little about chickens! Again thank you!

Anyone want to have a go at this one? Roo or pullet?

The little black one I'm pretty certain of, they're only 2 months. The ameraucanas always seem a bit more challenging.
I hear you on the challenge :) Here’s my 2-mo Ameraucana pullet for comparison - no redness to the comb. That’s why I think yours is a cockerel.
