My buff orpington went into brooding a couple weeks ago around 3 and a half 4, and before she had a full bright red comb, but I went to check on her today and her comb was like pink, and pale, I heard this is a sign of sickness and that she might die, is this true? Is it because she hasn't come out because she's been sitting on the nest for almost a month? please help!

It might be that she has not came out of the house for a while. I have herd some chickens don't eat or drink.
I hope this helps.

Never leave a broody hen broody, unless she is hatching eggs. This is very dangerous to her health. She is probably malnourished, hens don't look after themselves when they are broody. To break a broody, place her in a cage with a wire bottom, you want air to circulate under her and on her breast. Broodiness is tied to elevated body temp, you want to cool her down. Place her where she can see light(broody hens love the dark to hatch eggs)you want to do the opposite of what she wants. Make sure she has food and water,i would also give her some vitamins because of her health. Leave her for a couple of days, let her out,if she runs right back to her nest, she is still broody. Put her back into the broody box,try again in couple of days. When she is done being broody, she will resume normal chicken activity(scratching, dust bathing,etc.). This is probably going to take awhile to break her,the longer a broody is broody, the longer it takes to break.

She has a pale comb just because she is broody. It will be red again a couple of weeks after she quits. I would too recommend you put her in a broody pen to break her. It can be a dog crate in the coop, or a dog run with shelter and a little roost. I keep mine in for 4 days, see if she goes back to a nest box, if I see her in there, she goes back for a few more. I will put a friend in for company if she's in the dog run. Oh yes and please offer her some scrambled eggs and some high calorie food (maybe a little scratch since they all lose a bit of weight.)
