HELP!!!!! IS MY CHICK OK?!?!

Hey I have a 1 month old chick that in THINKING is a hen and she's started acting weird today. I had taken her and my other chick and duck out of the coop ad into the coop yard do they could forage. At first she was fine. Then she went to a spot that was literally just dirt and laid down in it, rolled to one side, and started kicking herself around in a circle with her leg. Then she would ruffle all her feathers and just throw dust all over herself. Then she'd turn onto her other side and do it again. She just kept doing this continually till I picked er up, and instead of standing up she just laid there in my hands. When I put her back in her coop, she laid there and tried to do the same thing with our woodchip flooring, but eventually gave up and got up and started walking around again. IS SHE OK?!?! She was my very frost chick that I hatched in my own room and I don't want her to die!!!!

She's perfectly fine...enjoying a nice dustbath They will all do it and it is quite fun to watch. Eventually, it feels so good that they will keel over and just enjoy...actually looks like they are dead but, they are just joyously happy

Oh ok good. Thanks this is my first time with chickens and it gave me quite a scare cause I thought he was spazzing

Just to save you some future anxiety...chickens also sunbathe. They will literally keel over in the sun..legs sprawled, wing spread out and just lay in the sun. They love it but, it has given more than one newbie a terrible scare

It's ok- thank you! I let both my chicks give themselves a thorough dust bath afterwards and since I can't leave them out alone in the coop yard, I had to stay and watch. And in the process, I got a dust bath too
