Hi everyone,
This is my first time hatching anything and so I'm very unsure. I checked my eggs this morning and I found the air sack punctured and a small hole in the shell. I asked a friend for advice and they said that because I has been more than 22 days I should help it.
I'm think now I shouldn't but it's too late now :/ . It still hasn't fluffed up however it is moving it's head and cheeping. It's still connected to its shell. I've got a photo of it but I'm not sure if it's ok.

Please help me out so I don't make the same mistakes with the others. The duckling is still alive as of now.

There is an assisted hatch article on BYC that you can read. I don't have the link, but if you type in "assisted hatching" in the BYC search function, it should bring up the article by @Sally Sunshine
(Or you can click on her name right there and you'll find a link to the article in her signature)

It's hard to tell, is there yolk sticking out of the stomach? If so, I would recommend getting a sharp pair of scissors and ending the suffering, in my experience they cannot ever recover from unobserved yolk once they are out of the shell. I'm very sorry.

@subhanalah thanks, this sucks. This was my first ever duckling so I got really scared for it and over reacted. Thanks for the help though.

My other ducklings are starting to hatch, with one already out and fluffy. As this is my first time hatching however I'm still not sure what's normal and what's not. Another one just hatched however and I think the elder may be deformed. Its legs are turned up and it can move around a little and move its toes but I doesn't seem right. Will its legs straighten because other than that it seems normal and strong.
