All the cases I have seen while researching look way worse and my Roo doesnt have a black scab. He started limping 3 days ago so I put him in a large dog cage..did my research inspected the foot and it does look swollen and there is a callous circle. In the picture the small red mark is where I started to try to pull it off to see if puss would come out. I have been doing epsom salt n Betadine soaks and putting a bandage on the foot. He is also on 1/4 cc of penicillian. Today I attempted to cut around that callous piece of skin and it just bled a lot I pushed on it and no puss came out. Could someone please tell me if I am even dealing with Bumble foot or if he just has a sprain from jumping off his roost

I'm no expert, but I've been treating bumblefoot in both feet of one of my girls for the past 3 months, and on each foot the scab is large, brown/black, and on the fleshy pad of the foot. Yours doesn't seem to be in the same place. It could still be a cut or scrape that's got infected, but it doesn't really look like bumblefoot to me.

As much as I am relieved to hear that, I am so sorry you are dealing with this. Have you tried the surgery yet? I just ordered online Johnsons poultry antibacterial wound powder..someone from England said it healed her hen's bumble foot on both feet. I hope you can get yours healed. And thank you for answering my post, I have impatiently been checking to see if people responded ...my rooster has been hanging out with me all day I think he is going to miss this royal treatment

I've been treating her by bathing her feet every night in warm water & betadine solution, then smearing betadine gel on the scabs and top of the foot.
Part of the scab on her right foot has already come away, and the rest of it feels ready to come off in the next day or two, so I think that one foot is almost healed. However the left foot is a different story. It doesn't feel as hot as it used to, but the scab isn't moving at all, and the lumps of infection between her toes are not going down.
I'm not up for surgery - she's not the sort to stay still for anything - even bathing her feet for 5 minutes is a battle - I have to do it at night when she is sleepier but even then she isn't too happy about it. I tried to put a poultice on with vetwrap bandage - couldn't even get close to wrapping it round her foot because she moved so much, so I had to give up. I dread to think what would happen if I had an open wound to deal with!

Maybe someone needs to help you. I read one women put her girl in a pillow case to handle her while dealing w her feet. You should try to order that medication if its as good as this women claims, it healed her hens up in a week. But I think you got to get that kernal out of the foot that is causing the infection. I know its super scary to think about doing it yourself but all I can say is watching tons of youtube videos of people doing the surgery it looks easy and I got confident that I could do it if I had to; However when I had the knife in my hand and I peeled back one surface I got real nervous. I think you should think about doing it though to save her life...it will spread. I wish I could help you
