I already put down 20 bags of this sand into my shed that im converting to a coop for my chickens and im extremely paranoid that I have the wrong kind because I have read ground quartz and silica are not safe for chickens respiratory tracts. I have also seen some say that it's fine. I'm not keeping chickens for the meat, just eggs, so I am trying to give them the best environment for them to live their longest healthiest lives. thank you! this sand is washed as well.

Does it say "medium, course, fine" anything like that? It's the "fine," dust that's not good. My soil is actually sand, river sand and it's anything from large to medium to fine. I've had no problems, the opposite, they have dust bath heaven, I use it in my poop trays and I've never had bug issues....

Ive used sand like that. Mine are fine
I actually bought the wrong sand a few months ago. It was multi purpose but suppose to be different. Learned not to buy from the bag and to buy from a local company. Its cheaper and the sand is better
