Ok I'm probably freaking out about nothing but someone help me. This morning there was a poop Cas left that has me concerned. It looks like there were a few drops of blood in it??!! He is active and alert and playful. Eating and drinking and chatty just fine. He doesn't seem any different than normal other than this poop. As of now there's only been the one instance, other poops all look normal. He's not with any other birds so I don't think he could've caught something? Someone please... Ms Lydia? Any ideas? Please tell me he's ok or I will leave work this minute and rush him to any vet that will see him. I can't lose my Cassy...:-(

Ok thank you! He's my baby and I worry! I went through old threads and was reading about it could be intestinal lining being shed, but there were no "clumps" just a few drops of blood. So I thought maybe Cocci but he's not around other farm birds and he's been vaccinated?

If it was just a few drops and, in fact, may not have been blood at all, then there is probably nothing to worry about. You say the other poops were o.k. which is a good sign. I would just watch Cas and make sure it does not reoccur. It could have been caused by any number of things. Something eaten, irritated bowel, any number of things. We always seem to think it is going to be the worse thing possible when it is one of our loved pets and it usually is not.

Thank you guys. I feel a little better. Not completely, but a little.. Lol. Hub kept trying to tell me he'd be acting sick if he's sick or he'd be not as hungry or active, but you know me, I gotta wait on the egg-sperts!!

Hub tells me he hasn't had another blood poo. We have him without his diaper on so each poo can be checked and so far no more. No sign of any worms or anything either. All poops seem to be normal consistency as of now
