HELP! It's getting cold in MASS and my ducks won't go in their house!

I had a well heated with hay for my ducks and two of them didn't go into it and died last night when the windchill got to around 23. I don't I don't understand.

This is my second year with Muscovies. I've discovered they are not that smart when it comes to figuring out what's best for them. I have to herd them into their coop many nights, even when it's very cold.

No I actually saw it on tv googled it and read it in Dave holderreads book that there feet don't have nerves, that's why they can swim in near freezing water. Bumble foot produces pain in their thighs, surprisingly not in their feet.

Is that really in Dave Holderreads book? If it is, no wonder the television and Google are repeating it. Oftentimes false information from a source that is deemed reliable is repeated by other sources, creating a constant feedback loop. Dave Holderread is absolutely incorrect in this instance.
