I'll check that soon - having to work while doing this. I haven't noticed anything with his legs - I've checked them many times and he doesn't seem to react when I touch his legs.have you checked his legs and hips closely.....as my drake grew I noticed that one leg was pigeon toed and then he slipped a tendon in the other leg he started the flipping and continued to emaciate despite hand feeding him 2-3x daily. i finally made the difficult decision to cull earlier this week.
He seems to eat and drink on his own when I make it available to him.
Right now I just gave him a good bathing in the sun. All this nursing care left him dirty and soiled and covered in all sorts of smelly remnants of feces and pond dirt. Now I have him drying in the sun for a little before I wrap him again in towels and lay him down to rest next to his water and food.
I find if I don't wrap him he keeps moving and writhing and sticking his butt in the air and knocking his water all over himself. This is so sad.
