I have a 3 y/o GLW and I noticed that she was acting almost like she was lazy and tired, and when I opened the coop to let them free range she just kinda hung out in or around the coop
with saying that we have a quarantine cage so she is in that right now.
I gave her electrolytes and probiotics, and then I checked her vent and it was pale (which would indicate that she is not laying eggs right?)
her nose eyes and mouth/airways are clear and she has green kinda liquidly poop. any suggestions????? I would like to make sure my baby gets better!:D
thanks in advance

Chickens may act that way if they are starting to molt, but she might be dehydrated or getting sick. I would look for any mites or lice under her vent and elsewhere. Feel of her weight and breast muscles for weight loss. Feel of her crop to see if it is full and hard or puffy, or empty and flat as it should be first thing in the morning. Reproductive disorders followed by crop disorders are very common after the age of 3. Has she been normally laing eggs recently? Is her tail held up or down? I would offer some wet chicken feed, and a little scrambled egg or tuna might be good. Pictures of her typical droppings may be helpful. Droppings will be green if not eating enough.

Also she gobbled up all her scrambled eggs, I felt her breast bone and it was quite skinny and I couldn’t see any mites but if there was any mites that would’ve been hard to see because of her black feathers

update: not getting any better, she has recently pooped out 2 inch roundworms so we dewormed her and she has not been getting any better if anything worse, we all decided that we are gonna cull her tonight when my dad gets home............ if anyone has any other options pleeeeeease respond asap (it has only been the 4th day of her deworming medication) thanks:(:hit:hit
