My ducklings are a week old and moved away from the heat source today
It’s warmer outside so the house is warmer
I would turn it down to 80 and see how baby does. If it’s still panting go down another 5 until it seems comfortable
Can you post a picture of the duckling
This will help us to figure out the age better

I have been putting it a semi lukewarm bath in my tub and it isn’t panting anymore

Also the heat it’s at 85f I just went to check

I dose have a way out part of it is covered by a lamp/heating pad and it also has like a fenced in out area

I need help I don’t know if I’m just being paranoid or what but I’m duck sitting for someone and when it sits down it will start to open it mouth and breath it’s like how a brig would when dehydrated that’s the best way to describe it like the heavy breathing and even a little noise I read on here about the temperature so I took it out but it would still continue to do it so I got it some warm water and to was dunking it’s head under and would like sneeze I guess also it keeps on nibbling at me and everything it see even it’s enclosure the person brought I’m sorry if none of this makes sense but if anyone could give me a little help I would appreciate it a lot. Also it’s a baby duck have no idea what type or how old the person didn’t say but it’s still yellow and about the size of a stuffed bear you would find at the store like the generic cheep ones. Please and thank you.

I put him in a bath and found out how to turn the heat down he is doing much better I just took him out of the bath he seems to been more relaxed then before. Thank you for all your help.

He looks about 2-3 weeks old.
His heat should be 70-75
How big is the pen he is in ?

So far it seems like you're headed in the right direction! It is very nice of you to duck sit. It can be hard with duckies this young if you don't have experience. Just keep asking questions and paying attention to how it is acting, and you will be fine.
