Well today I went down to feed the quail and noticed one of my quails was lying there with one of his legs out, and whenever he walked he limped. He also has some bruising on his head and has lost all of the feathers on one side of his face...I will try and get pics, but what should I do and how could he have received his injuries?

I would bet you have a quail that is pecking. What kind of quail do you have ? how old? how big of pen are they in? Need more input... Bill

I have Buttons, unsure of the age, but the girls are laying eggs. The pen is something similar to this, except a bit bigger:

They need to be in pairs. That is why there is fighting I'd say. Are they outside?

Are they on wire? Buttons should have solid flooring because they can injure their legs very easily on wire floors. Just make sure to bring them inside if it gets below 60 F/15.5 C.

Head Face And Leg??? While I Am No Pigmy Specialist That Certainly Sounds Like Flushing Injuries To Me...

Flushing is when they get startled. Quail have a tendency to fly straight up. I think the bird hurt its leg from being on wire and the others attacked it because it was injured.
