Help! Little yellow rice like things crawling all over my hens!!!

Whatever you end up using, do make sure to retreat in 10 days. Sometimes lice are killed, but the nits can still hatch afterward, hence the 10 day later retreatment. The clumps will probably stay until your birds molt...that stuff is hard to get off of feather shafts.
I am horrible about dusting birds, and have used the Adams flea/tick spray before with success - just another option. Whatever you use, do protect their faces when you're treating them.

If you go the ivermectin pour on route you MUST part all feathers and fluff to get to the back of the neck, if those drops land on the down feathers its a total loss and doesn't soak into skin like it is intended to do. Make ssure even if you have to pluck out some feathers to get to the sweet spot do it. I use the iveron in combo with the adams flea and tick spray with Precon in it, the precon kills off any eggs that may hatch in the days to come, I still respray the birds after 10 days just to be sure. Adams also works well after you have cleaned out the coop for spraying down inside cracks ect. I do this once every 3 months and never have problems with mites

Never read the back labels on anything....you will soon have to sit on the couch wrapped in a blanket! LOL The stuff is fine just use good common sense....which most people have lost years ago....and don't bathe in it nor breathe it. It will be fine. I have used it on mine and managed to get some all over me and in my mouth....I lived to tell but it really does taste bad.

Well I do take your point...(The blanket might suffocate you if you wrap yourself in it...though

) But my point is if you sprinkle it all over your chickens or coops like people were saying they do the chickens are going to breath it and eat it and basically swim in it....and they are ALOT smaller than us...is it really safe for them?

Ok, i would rather use that then the seven, your saying that your sure it worked? And what type should I use, the cat spray or the dog spray?

Should you use Sevin dust as a preventative therapy in the coop and nesting boxes? Haven't had any problems yet but if I can prevent them would like to do so.

In my opinion...yes. I prefer to use it (I don't mean using a ton of it though) and kill the bugs (so satisfying to see them drop off the bird dead) because the bugs will kill the chickens if left untreated. It has been used for years. I don't fling it around all over the place. I shake a bit under each wing or if it is a small bird like a serama I put a pinch (with my bare fingers) under the wings, at the back of the neck and underneath and around the vent area. Then I sprinkle a bit in the nest boxes. I don't have a true coop so I don't have to treat it. Then 10 days later do it once more. No egg withdrawal either.
