Help! Losing Ducks!

Google says otters will eat ducks but they are not their primary food. Mostly they eat fish but will take a duck if one's available. Will def take ducklings. As for owls, they will eat an entire bird, bones, feathers snd all. And can carry off about 1.5 times its own weight. So yes, a large owl could take a barnyard bird ... so get your ducks in before dusk, when owls start hunting.

How goes it with penning the ducks at night? Did you catch an otter or are they protected? Did not know an otter would eat ducks. I've heard owls will eat just the head off a bird. Don't know if they can carry off a big bird, would not think so. Hey, Google!
Yes penning going good. They come in every evening now. Unfortunately lost 2 more though. Horned Owl is the killer managed to find carcass of 2 of them. And yes head and neck gone. Process of getting permit too eliminate predator.

Well so much for a Predatory Permit, not likely going to happen. Local game fish says there almost impossible to get. So be going Boom Boom alot and hope he moves on from lack of peace and Duck meat. 🤞
