I have four baby chicks — three were supposed to be females and one a male. My Wheaten Olive Egger (Captain Morgan), however, is constantly stressed because he’s locked in an ongoing battle with my Black Ameraucana. He’s panting and looks exhausted from it. This is them today:
Since the Black Ameraucana doesn’t have a visible comb that I can identify as obvious, can anyone help determine the sex?
Kraken (the Black Ameraucana who I posted about when she first arrived as she was out of this world different than any other chicken I have encountered) has always been the friendliest with humans, the loudest... non stop chirping wants to be carried or rides on shoulders, cuddles on the sofa and the crowd favorite — but this constant fight for dominance is wearing my fuzzy-footed Wheaten out. They’re chest-bumping every few minutes, and now that they’re 39 days old, it’s getting noticeably more aggressive.
Question: what does everyone think? is kraken just a really dominant female? or a rooster who doesn't like his pen mate?
