Help me average this for report card! I AM WORRIED

Maxx...I would talk to either the sub. or to your counselor. It can't hurt, and possibly may help.

Good luck and be pro-active. Math isn't everyone's forte' but I bet if your parents saw you busting your backside to understand the work, they would understand a "C". If they don't think your putting forth your best effort, they may be disappointed.

And if the "worst" happens, and you get a "C"....make a really big effort in this quarter - not just for the grade, but also this math (boring as it may seem) is the building block for all the maths you'll be taking in your career. It doesn't get easier if you get behind.

You're so smart - you can do this!

I'm not a bit of help I know... but good luck

Good luck, Maxx..

Hopefully it will go in your favor.
When do you get your report card?

I've been in your shoes, Maxx, and you have to give your parents the heads-up now. They'll hit the roof if you saw this coming and didn't say anything, and stepping up to take your punishment and explain your plans to improve your grades *before* the hammer falls at school can only help your case.

Chin up, and good luck.

I know how you feel. When I was in school which was long ago, I would get grounded if I brought home anything lower than a B but my sister could bring home C's and D's and nothing was said. It did make me strive harder and now I am a person that doesnt give up. I agree let your parents know. If you tell them you are having some problems they will be more understanding. If you dont they will think you are playing around and not be so understanding. Good luck.

The quarter ended January 14th. No EC work was given out to us.

But did you specifically ASK for extra credit assignments, as compared with being told that you could do such and so for extra credit, Teachers applaud initiative, and when a student shows initiative they will usually reward it as compared with someone who shows no initiative. Other ideas (that it may now be too late for) include asking to redo assignments or retake a test when the grades were less than stellar. With the teacher out on an extended absence, it will likely be the department head who would decide whether you can redo any assignments or re-take tests or do extra credit work. It will also depend on whether your teachers has any specified classroom rules about any of those options. It is also likely that he/she has a grading policy on how the grades are calculated.

The ultimate goal of education is to learn the material; have you done that? If not, can you do so in fairly short order?

If all the grades count equally then your total points needed for a B (79.5 and round up to 80) would be 238.5
You said you've got 84.8% and 70.5%, but are they going to count those .bits or do they round?
If they count then you've got 155.3 of the needed 238.5, meaning you'd need 83.2 on the exam.
If they round those numbers then you've got 156/238.5 and you need 82.5.
Again though, that's assuming all grades are created equal, if all three are worth the same 33% each.

If they are different percentages of worth then it'll have to be recalculated.
You can determine the Min Grade needed, but without knowing the actual weights is kinda pointless.
And knowing what you need isn't going to make you feel better if they won't tell you what you got.
Try and get the weights and your exam grade and we can sort you out.
