Help me decide on a stallion to breed my mare to! Update #120

Looking at Sir Keith and his sire, I see the Palomino dam with Sir Keith, knowingly that he has a large chest but as for the back, it might pass the long backed trait to the foal.

However Bullet seems to be a very nice horse for the chest and back.

#3 Silver Fox, no, he looks too much like a Percheron-Arabian cross, very refined in his looks. It does not look like a Gypsy Vanner to me.

As for the market, it all depends on location and how well they are selling and I think with responsible breeding, it can sell.

Stud feeds for vanners are $2500 on average. Many places have offered a discount the past two years due to the economy, but most are at least $1500.

I personally like #2 because I love the gray in his coat.... So pretty!!! Plus he has a very "flowey" mane

I wouldnt wory about the cost of the fee as much as the quality of the foal- This is about what YOU want in the foal. It is what you are willing to pay for the quality that you want. If the foal will be sold, breed for what sells-color-build etc. they are all gorgeous!!

I think its ultimately up to you. But if I had to choose I would say 2#. He looks to be a healthy and active stud from the pics and hes got a nice build. You Said that you didnt care for the buckskin your mare threw but she has great bay babies and because the stud would most likely give you a bay or silver bay foal it would be the safer bet for having a nicely marked foal. But thats just the way I see it.

I like #1, #5, and #6....#1 I keep going back too so he is my favorite then #5.

#3 seems too small to me.
