When I take it out of the broth I am going to go ahead and add some red and cranberry beans.
While the beans cook I can still go either way and do a chicken salad and a bean soup or a chili.
Why is this so hard today? Way too many options sometimes!
Also - yes, I am cooking on the woodstove. No need to spend money on electricity when I have a fire going. So far I haven't used the stove since last week.
Everyime I read one of these posts, I picture you hovering over a woodstove with a apron on, like my Grandma used to do. A table covered with flour making pies or cookies or something along that line. Pot on the stove simmering and her old farmhouse filled with the aroma of todays meal. Chickens in the yard and her flowerbed smelling of flowers.
Something wrong with that picture, you are younger than me! You are amazing with all that old time knowledge, everytime my wife reads what you are doing she is so struck with awe. I enjoy reading these posts, it brings back a memory of my Grandma.....Thanks.
I have long johns and a John Deere thermal overshized shirt and a very heavy pair of thick wool socks. Its cold outside! If I have to run out I can throw on my boots and dash out back and no one can see me.
My little boy is still in long johns too.
We are pretty relaxed and comfortable this morning.
My table is covered with a sewing machine some projects that need attention and to be finished this week.
Luna wants her purse and so do some other people!
Also, my altoids tins need another spray paint coating.
They all sound good, but it's been a long time since I have had Chicken salad, so that's where my vote goes. When we make chicken salad, we use the leftovers from a whole chicken marinated in a bourbon marinade and rotisseried over charcoal. Yum! I just made myself hungry for it!
Uh oh, I'm in trouble. Chicken chili is sounding better and better........
And I beef thawing for stew tomorrow.... so maybe chicken today! I am going to cheat and use canned beans, lots of ebay biz today. Poach the chicken for stock, shred, add beans, what seasonings?
